Description

Plump is our newest product; an all-natural lip enhancing balm that is hand-crafted with only the finest, clinically-effective ingredients and nothing else. This one-of-a-kind balm is formulated free of toxic ingredients that you’ll most likely find in other similar products. Like our other ingredients, Plump provides its health benefits without the harmful effects of commonly used toxic excipients.

Each ingredient in Plump is chosen with specific intent and purpose. Together, each ingredient shares the common goal of inhibiting the main offenders that contribute to exhausted, deflated, aged lips, while also supporting lip health on a physiological level.

The regular use of Plump is intended to maintain luscious lips, prevent lip aging and restore lip fullness and sumptuousness by protecting, nourishing and supporting lip health. It is rich in protective fats, a rare, full-spectrum European vitamin E, naturally-derived progesterone, and tremella mushroom, all which work to protect the lips from the shriveling and shrinking from the catabolic effects of stress and aging.

What Makes Plump Better?

There are a couple of other “lip plumping” cosmetics on the market, but they do not compare to Plump. First of all, most of other lip plumping products contain harmful ingredients like titanium dioxide, which according to mechanistic toxicological studies, is known to have many negative health effects, primarily by causing oxidative stress that leads to cell damage, genotoxicity, inflammation, and an aberrated immune response. 1

Many of these products do not effectively improve lip health but give a pseudo, lip plumping effect by irritating the lip tissue. With the use of certain ingredients, some products work to irritate the lip tissue, which temporarily makes them appear fuller, redder and gives a tingling sensation by causing an inflammatory reaction. These effects are often induced with “warming” ingredients like Menthone Glycerin Acetal. Recent studies find that there are several flavor acetals, including vanillin PG acetal and methanol, which activate pro-inflammatory irritant receptors. 2

The truth is, conventional “plumper’s” are typically short-term cosmetic fixes that superficially stimulate lip volume through evoking a stress and inflammatory reaction. These effects are not only temporary but in the long-run, will only contribute to the further aging and shrinking of the lips by causing stress and damage to the lip tissue.

The reality is, these sort of products are not improving lip health or correcting the cause of aging, shrinking lips. They use the term “plumping” as a politically correct term that in actuality refers to the intentional irritation of the lip/skin tissue, which leads to the weakening of lip skin cell fibroblasts and collagen/elastin integrity.

This is where our product Plump comes into play. First of all, we are not just a beauty care company, we are a husband and wife duo of wellness practitioners,  both with a deep understanding of human physiology. Therefore, each of our products are designed to actually improve the health of the skin, rather than artificially improve it’s appearance. We like to teach people how to improve their physical appearance at a cell and hormone level and Plump helps our clients and customers with achieving this goal.

Plump helps to achieve fuller lips in a few important ways:

• inhibits the breaking down of the lip tissue caused by stress and aging
• restores proper collagen and elastin production
• deeply moisturizes and hydrates the lips, from a cellular level

Each ingredient in Plump helps achieve these main goals. To start, Pump contains a therapeutic dose of naturally-derived progesterone. Progesterone is the primary anti-stress, anti-inflammatory hormone. With adequate levels of progesterone, the body is significantly less reliant on the catabolic and aging hormone cortisol. Cortisol is a destructive stress hormone that can age the skin (lips included) and Plump helps to block the lip-shrinking effects of this hormone and stress overall.

As we age, we produce much less progesterone and other protective hormones and a lot more stress hormones such as cortisol as well as estrogen. These two particular hormones are at the root of aged, shriveled lips. Cortisol breaks down skin tissue, causing a loss of collagen and increase in inflammation, while impairing proper skin tissue regeneration. Estrogen, which increases as progesterone decreases, can cause a loss moisture and elastin. Estrogen increases the enzyme “hyaluronidase“, which contributes to the degradation of hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is a clear, “gooey” substance that is naturally produced in abundance when your young and healthy. It is produced mostly in the skin and connective tissue as well as the eyes. Its primary function is to help the skin tissue properly retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated, moist and plump. A loss of hyaluronic acid, which is often caused by stress-induced elevations of estrogen that increase as we age, is at the root of shriveled, aged lips. If we wish to restore lip fullness and health, we have to handle these hormones, and Plump can help do that. Not only does Plump help your body produce a more optimal level of hyaluronic acid by blocking estrogen.

How To Use

If applied moderately, like any other lip balm, Plump will last 15-30 days. To use, simply apply a generous amount on dry lips, and rub lips together to support absorption. Avoid drinking or eating for 10-15 minutes after applying to allow the product to penetrate into the lip tissue.

Note* If you live in a climate that gets cold, the high stearic acid content of our cacao butter will cause the product to get quite solid when exposed to cold temperatures for long. This may make the product to stick to the inside of the tube/container and make pushing it up difficult. To correct, simply hold the product in your palm for 1-2 minutes to warm it up, then push up gently (1 1/16th of an inch). If very cold, you may need to use a blow dryer on a low setting for 30-60 seconds, just long enough to soften the outside of the product but not long enough to melt it.

Storage Tips

Additionally, Plump is an oil based product, which will melt when temperatures get too high. During summer months, and particularly hot days, we suggest tracking your package via USPS until they provide the estimated day/time of delivery, this way packages can be retrieved immediately. All packages are kept in A/C up to the point of delivery, so the mailbox is the most vulnerable place for potential melting. When retrieved, to be on the safe side, do NOT open your products right away. Instead, allow them to cool at least to room temperature, or place in the fridge for  5-10 minutes before opening. Once ready to open, store in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.
